That's incredibly rough. No other options?

Unless you want the original seats I highly recommend something other than what you are looking at... For a lot cheaper.

Not for that specific option. What I want is fairly unique: an unequal split-bench of a certain cut, unusually narrow, preferably on a lifted steel frame. The only "perfect match" setups I've encountered so far are the early FJ-40 and the Jeep Tuxedo Park, though some others come close. As seats, these are quite cheap compared to some, but would need a reupholster badly, of course.

The seat on the left looks doable, but the one on the right is a horror show. You'd be better off copying the parts and having someone build you a brand new seat from what's there.

You'd think there would be a cheap option out there for what I want, but so far there isn't. See the earlier post: I may end up building something, but I want a narrow, relatively high unequal split bench with divorced frame, fold, and a vintage style overall shape with no headrests. Not a lot of choices, and you'd be surprised what seats other than junkyard bargains go for, even this shady.

Those would be CP even at $2.50. Jesus christ.

I don't know what country you are in but I would see if you can make a rear bench out of a van or older SUV like a ford expedition work.

Quite right. The frame appears solid, the springs are there, but foam and skin would have to be fresh. That's understood, and even so, these seats would probably be a bargain if it weren't for the shipping cost. Seating of any kind runs expensive, and whole seats of any sort are murder, let alone whole seats of what I want, which don't appear to exist new.

You'd be surprised what people will pay for frames and spring sets, and a pattern to copy. Reinventing the wheel and getting it right can be expensive. In fact, these are by far the cheapest FJ-40 cushions *in that condition* I even found for sale - puzzle over that one.

Thought of that (US). Actually, one of the closest stylistic matches I've found is the rear seat from an early 90s F-series Supercab, but the framing is a bit... odd and they're designed to fold up, not down. I'd have to build a frame to support from the back. The Expedition ones have fitment issues as well, and van seats are much too tall for the Ranchero's cab without a lot of modification.

Just because, I went on Cincy craigslist to try and find seats from the FJ40 or CJ5.

I now have PTSD. The cars were either bad, really bad, terrifying post-crash remains, or restored but oh so expensive.

You're a braver man than me.

I believe it. It's crazy what some people will pay for "original parts." I am for sure not one of those people.

Simply because I want a style of part that's close to original in my vehicle *but different*, I'm just about priced out of the game. Because the part I would want *is* original parts for *somebody else's ride*, and those people want quite a lot.

My existing bench is badly due a reupholster (not as badly as these), and the costs of that sort of thing (horribly enough) make the seemingly extreme cost of these in comparison a lot less. Try as much as $500-$600+ for the job to be acceptable, at which point one starts to wonder if paying $200+ to have a better thing being re-skinned is worth it regardless. If I were, say, to buy an original-style equivalent single bench for, say a period Chevy to put in, it could easily be $1000+.

The other option is a junkyard, but that leaves hours of searching and in the end a seat at maybe half the price at best (time factored) that isn't really what I want...

The other other option is making a frame and hoping to get cushions to look right on it blind, which is like hoping for a good result from quasimodo stitching it with his good eye closed.
